New Lara Croft: Relic Run Content
Lara Croft: Relic Run has been downloaded over 10 million times since its launch back in May. To celebrate, Simutronics and Square Enix have finally released the Mountain Pass location. This update includes the frozen Mountain Pass level swarming with yetis, ice spiders, and a new boss that shoots ice obstacles to dodge. Also, there is a new mini-gun for Lara, an improved tutorial, and a new campaign map/mode where players collect relics and complete objectives.
The update is available now for Android and iOS devices and "coming soon" to Windows devices. Since we Windows fans have yet to see an update I have put in a word with Crystal Dynamics in order to find out when we will actually get the updates. I also mentioned the various achievement/gameplay glitches we have encountered and whether or not the game itself will carry over to Windows Mobile 10 if we upgrade. I will post any answers I receive here as soon as I hear back.
FAQ from Crystal Dynamics:
1.
Will this update (coming
soon to Windows Phone) include past updates that didn’t come to Windows Phone?
·
Yes!
2.
How will the addition of
the campaign mode affect the progress I’ve already made?
·
Your progress is based on relics
acquired. You will be placed in the location associated with the highest relic
that you have acquired.
·
If a player has collected ALL relics from
a location they will automatically have access to the next location.
·
All relics collected will be transferred
over with the opportunity to go back and acquire any relics not yet collected.
·
Coins and Gems will be transferred over
and no changes made to amount collected.
·
Upgradeable items have new levels and
players will be given the equivalent new level of upgrade to what they already
purchased.
·
All items purchased for money will be
transferred over.

Rise of the Tomb Raider Season Pass & Extra Game Modes
A season pass has been announced for Rise of the Tomb Raider as well as extra game modes to keep the game going. Crystal Dynamics have promised over 30 hours of gameplay to achieve 100% completion, which is impressive in itself, but there's more with extra game modes.
Season Pass
The Season Pass for Rise of the Tomb Raider includes a range of content that will extend your single-player campaign, and also allow you to compete with friends. Three major releases will challenge you to survive the extreme conditions of Endurance Mode, explore a new tomb that houses an ancient terror in Baba Yaga: The Temple of the Witch, and combat waves of infected predators in Cold Darkness Awakened. In addition, a steady stream of outfits, weapons, and Expedition Cards beginning on Day 1 and continuing over four months will keep you customizing, expanding, and challenging your friends to new adventures.
At launch Rise of the Tomb Raider features three ways to replay the events of Lara’s first great tomb raiding expedition. They include:
- Chapter Replay: Replay earlier chapters of the story. Complete challenges to earn credits.
- Chapter Replay Elite: Replay earlier chapters of the story with your upgraded skills and equipment and complete challenges to earn credits.
- Score Attack: Replay levels from the game with a new set of rules. Finish the level quickly for a time bonus. Chain together attacks, movements and collectibles to keep your multiplier high. Complete challenges and collect medals to earn credits!
- Remnant Resistance: Replay Hub spaces with a new set of goals. Craft your own missions by choosing the objectives, enemies and more. Once you’ve mastered the mission, challenge friends and the community to beat your high score or play other custom missions created by the community.
In Rise of the Tomb Raider, you’ll earn credits by completing challenges and exploring the world. These credits can be used to purchase Expedition Card packs. When used, Expedition Cards become modifiers in the extra game modes detailed above. Some Cards are humorous, such as Big Head Mode, while others can increase the challenge or give you special advantages. There are two types of Expedition Cards: Foil and Common. Foil Cards offer the strongest or strangest variations and can be used as many times as you wish. A Common Card can only be used once, and you’ll need to earn more credits to buy it back. Expedition Cards offer hundreds of ways to customize your Rise of the Tomb Raider experience. Uncover, unlock, experiment, and enjoy!
Rise of the Tomb Raider is available for digital preorder from the Xbox Store now. Get the Deluxe Edition to get the game, the season pass, and the Remnant Resistance Pack which includes the "Remnant" outfit which gives Lara a chance to bandage without using any resources, the "Matte Ebony" Handgun skin, and the rare "Bullet Resistance" foil card, which gives Lara extra damage resistance to gunfire.

New Tomb Raider Comic Series Coming in February
The Tomb Raider comic series by Dark Horse will pick up again in February following Rise of the Tomb Raider. Writer Mariko Tamaki will be taking Lara on adventures in this run.
“Mariko Tamaki’s writing is impactful and emotionally resonant,” said series editor Patrick Thorpe. “When I was researching her work for Tomb Raider, I read This One Summer cover to cover and said to myself, ‘That was perfect.’ Since becoming an editor, I don’t know that I’ve ever said that.”
“I am thrilled to be given the opportunity to write up some adventures for Lara Croft. I feel like I’ve just gotten this new, incredibly daring, strong, valiant friend, and now I get to think up super-cool stuff for her to do,” said Mariko Tamaki. “And she has to take me with her. And we can go anywhere, and do anything? Right?! What could be better than that?”

This stand-alone novel is an epic Lara Croft adventure, featuring enough dual-pistol wielding action and sharp wit to please nostalgic fans of the franchise.
After a ruthless competitor beats her in a race to recover a priceless antiquity in Sri Lanka, Lara Croft returns home to London. Nursing her bruises, she gets a call from an old friend in desperate need of help and learns that something truly strange has been discovered during a excavation beneath the City of London. Investigating, Lara witnesses something so spectacular it could rewrite the history of the British Isles—and perhaps even the world—but is drawn into a dangerous shadow world of espionage, conspiracy and black market trafficking. There’s too much at stake. Lara sets off on a globe-trotting mission to recover a precious antiquity that links the modern world to ancient myths and legends, as old foes and new threats gather to stop her finding the truth. What is the true secret of the blade, who can she really trust, and is this the one mission even she can’t survive?
Storyline written in conjunction with the game developers at Crystal Dynamics, and penned by Dan Abnett, a bestselling British novelist and comic book writer.
